Gasa is well known for its natural hot spring (tsachu), which are found at several locations with different contains of medicinal values. Gasa lies in the northwest of the country and the main gateway for Layaps and Lunaps, who mostly depend their life by raising yaks. The other income generated by highlanders of Layaps and lunaps are from collecting Cordyceps Sinesis.


Gasa Dzong
It was built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Nawang Namgyal on a slope facing East. It is the administrative headquarter of Gasa Dzongkhag and houses the monastic school of Gasa. The skeleton of the sheep that followed Zhabdrung Nawang Namgyal on his journey from Tibet is preserved in the dzong.

Gasa Tsachu
Visited mostly in winter by the people from all over the country. One of the most popular hot springs claimed to cure many diseases and offer many health benefits.
